Paint Technical Hub

Technical help before you paint

Use the Breakwells Technical Hub to find the information needed to specify, identify and apply coatings more confidently. If you cannot find the answer online, contact the team with the exact product name and your application.

Technical and safety data sheets

Application ratios, compatible products, flash times, film build, cure schedules and PPE requirements vary by coating. Always use the current Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the specific product rather than relying on generic mixing advice.

Where to look for an automotive paint code

Vehicle paint-code labels are commonly found in areas such as the engine bay, door apertures or luggage compartment, but location varies by manufacturer and model. Our Automotive Paint & Colour Matching service can help narrow the search; confirm the OEM paint code before ordering where possible.

Colour matching

Breakwells works with recognised automotive, RAL and British Standard references and can assess physical samples for suitable custom matches. Learn more about colour matching, spray-out cards and repeat formulations.

Practical guides

Visit Paint Advice & Guides for repair, protection, matching and product-selection articles.

If your question affects safety or compatibility, stop and confirm it against the current manufacturer documentation before application.
