Plan the system, not just the topcoat

A durable finish depends on substrate condition and preparation. Identify whether you are coating steel, timber, previously painted surfaces or another material, remove contamination and failing paint, then select a compatible primer and topcoat using the relevant technical data.

Choosing a colour

You can work from recognised colour references where available or discuss a sample match with the Breakwells team for restoration work. Historic coatings can fade significantly, so decide whether your target is the original specification or the colour of the surface as it exists today.
